How do I use epics as goals or themes?

Create an epic to represent your goal or theme. You typically want to place such epics separately from the other backlog items, to provide better overview. For example, create a dedicated backlog or backlog list for epics that are goals or themes. Here's an example:

To add backlog items to an epic that represents a goal or theme, right-click on the backlog items and select "Add to epic". This will add the backlog items to the epic, while keeping them at their current locations in the backlog.

You can have multiple levels of goals and themes, by having epics inside epics.

Note that since a backlog item can have at most one parent epic, a backlog item cannot belong to multiple goals or themes at the same time.
